uses

This is a "uses" page, which details what I use on a daily basis in my work as a developer and general computing nerd, as well as other tools, utilities and resources that I find handy and wish to share with others. The concept was popularized by uses.tech.

I try to keep this list current. In order to keep myself honest, I'll display the last updated date here, so I can be publicly ridiculed when I get out of date.

Software

Class Tool of Choice Notes
Personal Laptop OS openSUSE Tumbleweed Moved from Endeavour to Bluefin/Aurora for a time. Currently trying openSUSE as a pilot.
Display Manager GNOME Default for the distribution. Would like to play with a tiling WM again, but the integrated functionality provided by the DM is holding me back.
Text Editor emacs Been a long-time vimmer; currently using the Doom Emacs package set to give me something comfortable feeling.
Web Browser Vivaldi Love having tree-view tabs on the left side of the screen.
Shell fish Decorated with Starship. Incorporated atuin to handle history, and moved from bash because of the ble requirement.
Notes Emacs Org Mode Syncing between my devices with Syncthing. Moved off of LogSeq because I was already re-attaching to Emacs. Using Orgzly on the Android phone to keep notes there.
